The Gift of a Star

Prince Eliona Dayview is heir to the smallest great house on Zilion Prime. And she spends most of her time trying to avoid her princely duties at all costs. The prince loves to dance, paint her figurines, and go hiking with her dog Vestra. Of course, being the oceanic planet’s supreme defender can get in the way of all that. 

Doctors told Eliona she wasn’t born a girl, and she proved them wrong. And when her uncle told her she’d never be a hero, she proved him wrong, even if it was by accident. After all, how could anyone plan for a sentient star to bless them with extraordinary abilities?

Whenever her planet needs defending, Eliona becomes Soulstar, a powerful warrior who feels like she does more good among the people than wielding her family’s seat in the Zilion Council. Of course, if she had one reason to attend Zilion Council meetings, it would probably be to spend time with her betrothed, Princess Cortalina Vost, one of the most outspoken members in the governing body. 

But being Soulstar makes it hard to balance a political life, a personal life, and the life of a superhero. This is especially true when space pirate attacks are on the rise across Zilion Prime, led by Tezrar, the fierce plunderer of worlds. These attacks only seem to be growing more frequent as the Zilion Council struggles with whether to sign a security accord with NovoCorp, the leading private military provider in the galaxy. 

Eliona will have to find a way to fight off the monsters trying to rob her planet of its beauty and resources, both in the political arena and on the battlefield, all while making sure nobody finds out she’s doing both. Fortunately, Eliona has a literal star to help her.
